2017 Board Nominations

The NCHICA Board of Directors Nominating Committee is taking nominations for open Board seats.  The member-elected positions are for the Class of 2020 (three-year term). All terms begin at the NCHICA Annual Conference in September.  Any NCHICA member in good standing may be nominated for a member-elected Board seat, and we strive for a diverse Board to represent our broad-based membership.

The NCHICA Board of Directors has strategic and educational planning, oversight and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization.  The NCHICA Board is composed of 36 members and meets quarterly in September at the Annual Conference; as well as in December, March and June at the NCHICA office in Research Triangle Park, NC.  Meetings are held on a Friday between the hours of 9am-1pm. Board members are expected to attend meetings and contribute insights toward the growth, strategy and success of NCHICA.  Board members are also encouraged to participate on Board Committees such as the Nominating, Membership, Education and Finance Committees and attend the NCHICA Annual Conference and other educational events.  The NCHICA Board of Directors is a volunteer opportunity and no compensation is provided.

Nominations will be accepted until May 15, 2017 at which time the NCHICA Nominating Committee will evaluate all applications and select candidates who will meet our goals of representing our community of large and small providers, research organizations, government agencies, thought leaders, and vendors. Our Nominating Committee attempts to be inclusive and identify members who represent as many different organizations and viewpoints as practically possible, while drawing from individuals who have previously demonstrated consistent leadership and a participation in NCHICA activities.

After the Board’s Nominating Committee makes its recommendations, the Executive Leadership Team will consult with Board members to select the best fit. All NCHICA members’ designated representatives will be given instructions to cast an electronic vote approximately 45 days before the Annual Conference in September.  New Board members will be notified in advance and announced at the NCHICA Annual Conference in Durham, NC. Newly-elected Board members are encouraged to attend the September 12 Board of Directors meeting to be introduced and welcomed to the Board.
