Pam Barth, MRP
Data Modeler, PORT, Duke Health
Pam’s primary work is with PORT, using EHR data to support Duke’s Private Diagnostic Clinic in its operational interests. She has over 15 years of Oracle database developer experience, particularly with PL/SQL, and is certified in Epic’s ASAP data model. She previously was a member of the Duke Translational Research Institute’s Applied Informatics team, and worked as a Data Warehouse Developer in the DHTS Analytics Center of Excellence. She received a Master of Regional Planning degree from UNC Chapel Hill.
Application & Data Specialist, Coastal Connect HIE
Cory has been with Coastal Connect HIE since 2012, during which time he has been in charge of projects ranging from installation of HIE technology to community outreach and education on HIE products. Currently he has turned to a more technical behind-the-scenes role for all HIE technology, most notably working as a beta tester for Notify. He received his BA in Business Administration with a concentration on Management Information Systems from UNC Wilmington.

Bonnie is a Telehealth pioneer and expert, having dedicated the past 21 years of her career to advancing the adoption and implementation of Telehealth both nationally and internationally. She is a past Board member and committee chair for the American Telemedicine Association, and was inducted to its College of Fellows in 2010. She currently serves as a Board Advisor and Consultant for the Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center. She earned her nursing degree from Eastern Carolina University.

Christie joined the newly-created North Carolina Health Information Exchange Authority (NC HIEA) in April 2016. She is an award-winning communications executive with experience developing and executing all aspects of communications for organizations. Prior to this role, she served as the Senior Director of Communications for the statewide North Carolina Retail Merchants Association. She earned her BA in Journalism from UNC Chapel Hill.

Bradley has over ten years of health care experience ranging from analysis, design, and development of application solutions, along with a vast range of programming skills and knowledge of health care business and innovation. He has technical expertise with health care messaging standards and interfaces such as HL7, DICOM, XDS and FHIR. He earned his BS in Computer Engineering from Eastern Michigan University.
Stephanie leads program and solution development, knowledge management, and customer success for Immersive. She has over 25 years of experience in healthcare, including working for WebMD, CTG Health Solutions and CynergisTek. She serves on AHIMA’s Data Analytics Practice Council, and serves as the scholarship chair of the Central and North Florida chapter of HIMSS.

Prior to joining InstaMed, Noah was Epic’s Chief Privacy and Security Officer, managing Epic’s security R&D team. He has also been a network administrator and worked for a large financial technology services company and a technology consulting firm. Noah publishes a monthly Security Corner blog on the InstaMed website. He earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Bruce’s areas of specialty are healthcare IT strategy, regulatory impact on IT, and IT cost optimization. Before becoming a consultant 13 years ago, he was a healthcare CIO: first with a hospital-based integrated delivery network and then with a large behavioral health organization. He is a member of the American Economic Association and earned his MBA from Michigan State University.

Iltifat is also a co-founder of IMPATHIQ. He and a team at Wake Forest took an evidence-based algorithm that was created at Wake Forest and turned it into an EHR-integrated SMART FHIR application. He earned his MD from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and MPH from UNC Chapel Hill.
Mustafa Karakus, PhD

Mustafa is a health economist and has extensive experience in mental health policy, evidence-based behavioral health services, healthcare financing, and behavioral health outcomes research. He serves as an internal subject matter expert providing technical assistance and analytic support on projects involving analysis of financing reform and innovations, opioid use disorders, medication assisted treatment, and people with serious mental illness. He earned his PhD in Health Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
Robert co-founded Protenus along with another medical school student to protect patient privacy in electronic health records. He is an expert in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, healthcare analytics and data privacy. Before co-founding Protenus, he was an MD candidate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
